Visitation at Surrey Place
Surrey Place is committed to maintaining communication between residents/patients, and their loved ones outside the facility during the COVID-19 pandemic, as visitors are currently not allowed in the building. Here are the best ways for you to stay in touch:
Every resident/patient at Surrey Place has a room phone number specific to them. To get the number of your resident's/patient's room, you may call the main number: 314-542-3300. Any residents that need help making/answering calls will receive assistance by staff. To schedule a specific call time call 314-542-3323.
Video chat is a great way to see and speak with your loved one using the power of the internet! Here are several services that may be used for video chatting:
FaceTime is an Apple app that can be used on apple devices such as an iPhone, iPad, and Mac computers only. If you and your loved one have an Apple device you can "FaceTime" them. If your resident/patient needs help with their device, we can help them. If your resident/patient does not have an Apple device, we can facilitate a scheduled FaceTime call using a Surrey Place device. To schedule a FaceTime call or to get help for your loved one, call 314-542-3323. (Note: the term "face time" is commonly used to describe video chatting in general or many other video chat apps but "FaceTime" is only available on apple devices.)
Skype is a video chat app available for virtually any device. If your loved one has a device, we can help them set up an account, make a call, or assist with any other concern. If your loved one does not have a device, you may call 314-542-3323 to schedule a Skype call with your loved one using a Surrey Place device.
Zoom is a video chat/video meeting app that allows several people to video chat at once available on virtually any device. If your loved one has a device, we can help them set up an account, make a call, or assist with any other concern. If your loved one does not have a device, you may call 314-542-3323 to schedule a Zoom call/meeting with your loved one using a Surrey Place device.
You may have seen on the news, or other media, individuals visiting with their loved one in a nursing facility through the window. This is a great way to see your loved one in-person while keeping them safe. A few reminders about this:
Please call or email Jacob Bizaillion, Activities Director with any questions or to set up any kind of virtual or window visit.
- Be sure to keep the window closed.
- If your loved one can't hear you, you can call their phone and speak with them that way. If your resident will need help with the call, please call 314-542-3323 to set up a time.
- If your loved one has a room with a window that is not in an area that is accessible to visitors, we can arrange for you to visit at an alternative window. Appointments to do this can be set up by calling 314-542-3323.
If you are unable to reach a staff member at this number, please call our main number at 314-542-3300 and someone will assist you with contacting your loved one.
Thank you for aiding us in keeping our residents, patients and staff safe and healthy by practicing social distancing. We will all get through this together!
